My name is Joann Frisch. I am 22 years old. I have shown dogs since I was 11 years old. I have worked for several top breeders but the most important and influential to me was Sandy LaFlamme of Dawnglow English Cocker Spaniels. She taught me almost everything I know about dog structure, breeding, showing and genetics. I watched her closely and listened as best I could to all she told me. Little did I know the importance it would have on my future in the world of dogs. Sandy showed me what I can accomplish if I devote my time and energy into my breeding program. She is an accomplished breeder, owner and handler. I truly treasure and appreciate all that she has done for me.
I met my first American Staffordshire Terrier aka AmStaff at an early age, I believe I was only 6 years old. Buddy was a brindle and white dog that my uncle owned and I fell in love with his passion and affectionate nature. I knew I wanted a dog like Buddy one day. When I was 17 I bought my first AmStaff. I then met breeder John Glenn of Wild West AmStaffs. I worked for him for 5 years off an on. I showed, trained, cleaned up after his dogs and worked my butt of to learn all he could teach me. John Glenn is the most difficult and hard to deal with man you could ever imagine. I stuck through a lot of hard times in order to get my dog, Chance and to learn what he was taught by other influential breeders such Sharon Stone, Marsha Woods and Fred Sindelar. Their words forever play in my mind. There is no other breed in the world that has the kind of passion and thoughtfulness than the American Staffordshire Terrier. I am forever grateful for all the happiness this breed has brought me. |
